Christmas 2014 : Let it Snow

Let It Snow 2014

The Gift …

The concert is called “The Gift” written for choirs by graham Kendrick. I’ve conducted it before and it was very successful and great fun.
1 1/2 hours a week rehearsal for 9 weeks will get it done.
There can be any amount of concerts.

The aim is to raise as much money for the selected chairties but also to enhance your christmas and other peoples christmas experience to.

It’s a family event – I did it with my dad when i was a wee lass, and i’m delighted to be passing it on.The music is very modern and great fun with plenty of solo opportunities.

I won’t be holding auditions as i want as many people / children and young adults to get involved.

So ..If you are interested would you email me :
or phone me on 087 9007003

There will be 4 Gift concerts this year ~ and as many singers as we can get from all over galway , from different choirs and different parishes are very welcome. For the last 2 years we’ve had 130+ singers and we’ve had a very exciting time. This year we will be supporting and raising funds for Ability West and othe charities. So please pass the word around.

Those of you who have done the Gift already are welcome to come back from the 5th week of rehearsals to refresh our memories ~ But i will ask everyone to be there the 1st week for registration. More on that again 🙂

The Gift 2011 Starting Oct 2011

Galway girl’s unbridaled enthuasism will make ‘The Gift’ two in a row…all she
needs is 260 singers!

Galway girl Keara Sheeran is set to make ‘The Gift’ an annual Christmas event
in Galway’s calendar. Last years series of concerts raised €12,000 across four
performances with 130 singers. This year she aims to double the number of singers to
260 to raise €24,000 for local Galway charities.

“The beauty of the Gift is that everyone can get involved from ages 6 to 80. Our aim
is to have as much fun during rehearsal as we do on the stage. All I ask is that you
can hold a note – and even if you can’t, come along and we will find a performance
element for you to get involved with.” Keara enthuses.

The Gift is an hour long interpretation of the Nativity sung in a lively gospel style and
carries the essence of Christmas. Our focus is to bring together people of all ages from
all walks of life to sing, have fun and raise money for Galway charities. Last year the
Gift raised €12,000 for Abalta, Slí Éile and the Galway Hospice.

The Gift is crammed full of joyful, poetic, soulful and meaningful songs and symbols
to awaken in people a profound appreciation for their gifting. It appeals to all people
across all ages and encourages performers and audiences to get involved in giving
their time and talents to those who need it most.

Keara is known throughout Galway for leading church music in the Jes, Renmore, St.
Joeseph’s, Bushy Park, Tuam Cathedral and the College Chapel NUI Galway as well
as being a volunteer musician with The Galway Hospice and the Holy Family School
for children with special needs. Her unbridled enthusiasm is infectious and she needs
the help of over 200 singers to make this years performances even bigger and better
this year.
